       What are chemical peels?

Chemical peels are one of the oldest cosmetic procedures in the world, and were performed in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome to help people achieve smoother, more beautiful skin.

It involves the application of a natural occurring chemical solution onto the skin. This chemical solution has the natural constituent of sugarcane juice and lactic acid, which is found in sour milk and tomato juice. The chemical solution is applied topically on the skin and its aim is to remove the outer layer of the skin.

The efficacy of these chemical solutions and their ability to penetrate the skin is dependent on the type of peel used, its strength and how long it is left on.
